So tomorrow night is the Twilight Singers show at the Masquerade in Atlanta. I'm soooo excited. This will be my first Greg Dulli show, and I am beside myself with anticipatory excitement. They made an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman last week. I knew it was coming on, had the DVR set to record, but I wanted to stay up and watch it anyway. I saw Dave's monologue and fell asleep. My groupie brain woke me up moments before the performance aired, thankfully.
It was spectacularly wonderful.
"On the Corner" is my favorite track from their most recent album, Dynamite Steps. It's hot and steamy and delicious. And only Greg Dulli could make a song about Jesus so damn sexy.
Again, I'll put out the open invitation to Mr. Dulli, for me to buy him a refreshing beverage while he's in Atlanta tomorrow. I'd love to hear first-hand all about his "virgin experience" playing tonight at Proud Larry's in Oxford, MS. Though I'm not sure I wouldn't swoon and pass out as soon as he said 'hello'.
The Twilight Singers play the Masquerade on Thursday, May 5th. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Margot and the Nuclear So and So's open at 8:00 p.m.
If you're there and see me and my purple hair, be sure to say 'hi'!
